Consumed: The Need for Collective Change: Colonialism, Climate Change, and Consumerism, by Aja Barber.
I loved this book so much. It was such a reckoning for me and a confirmation of sorts since I’ve been feeling incredibly uncomfortable with my consumer habits as of late. I’ve been dabbling with the idea of limitarianism, what it is I need versus what it is I want, when will anything be enough for me, and what am I amassing to fulfill voids (and what do I need to be doing to fulfill those voids that doesn’t involve buying things). This book was like a you’re going in the right direction, and taught me so much about the catalysts and intersections of my behavior that changing it is no longer an option. I’m really happy to have found this book in my library (LOL) when I did.
